Interiors
The Front Living Room
Just off the front hall, this gracious sitting room beckons with a golden glow. A magnificent gilded mirror, sparkling chandeliers and wall sconces, shining brass lamps with softly fringed shades, period oil paintings, chintz armchairs, and plenty of cheerful morning light – all contribute to its allure.
The Green Room
Outfitted with antique mahogany panels, an abundance of polished silver and glass, vintage leather club chairs by a crackling fire, and crisp linens on the tables, the Green Room becomes the perfect place for a cozy breakfast, a leisurely look at the day’s news, or a relaxing drink at the end of a long day.
The Back Living Room
This intimate sitting space tucked away between the Green Room and The Terrace dining room tempts you to linger. Its comfortable upholstered chairs, equestrian oil paintings, and working fireplace offer an enticing corner for a quiet conversation or a drink before dinner.
The Library
At the foot of the inn’s grand staircase, the library is a quiet sitting area overlooking South Summer Street. Leather-bound books fill glass-fronted cases, gorgeous photography books are stacked on a marble-topped table under the crystal chandelier, and a working fireplace flanked with two antique tufted-leather chairs offers a relaxing place to read.
The Gardens
The romantic gardens and artfully tended grounds at The Charlotte Inn are reminiscent of an old-world English country home: immaculate lawns and manicured hedges, lush flowering planters, wicker and wrought iron garden furniture, English-style perennial gardens, meandering brick walkways, and quiet courtyards.
